Journey - Raised On Radio - LP Record

Journey - Raised On Radio

Journey - Raised On Radio

1986 CBS Inc. / Columbia Records

Journey"s ninth album, Raised on Radio, was released in May of 1986 on the Columbia Records label.

Following their two most successful albums, lead singer Steve Perry decided to take more control over the band"s direction. First, Ross Valory and Steve Smith were fired from the band, against the wishes of manager Herbie Herbert. The two were replaced by various studio musicians for the recording of Raised on Radio, including Randy Jackson (bass) and Larrie Londin (drums). Smith did record two tracks with Journey on the album, and he and Valory still received revenues from the record and subsequent tour. Both returned to Journey in 1996.

Second, Perry changed the original title of this project, Freedom to Raised on Radio, which drew the ire of Herbert and some of the band members, which may have contributed to the departure of Smith and Valory.

Much of the album has a feel similar to Perry"s solo album Street Talk. However, the classic Journey sound can still be heard on songs like Girl Can"t Help It, Suzanne, and the long time concert staple Be Good to Yourself. The album closer and ballad Why Can"t This Night Go on Forever, similar to that of Faithfully, also achieved minor chart success.

Highest Chart Position: #4

Positive Touch – 4:16

Huey Lewis and the News - Sports

1983 Chrysalis Records

Sports is the third album by American rock band Huey Lewis & the News, released in 1983 (see 1983 in music). This was the album that truly broke the band into the big time, going to #1 on the Billboard 200 on June 30, 1984 and making the band international superstars. The album has been certified 7 x Platinum by the R.I.A.A but has unofficially sold 10 million copies in the US alone. Sports was the 2nd biggest selling album of the year next only to Thriller and spawned four Top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 and an additional Top 20 on the same chart. It also did very well internationally, with most of its singles reaching great chart peaks in various countries. In addition the album"s biggest hit I want a new drug was certified gold with sales of a million copies and was also the centre of a law suit against artist Ray Parker Jnr who had plagiarized the song for his 1984 hit Ghostbusters. The case was eventually settled out of court for an undisclosed sum. During the band"s 1984-1985 Sports tour, Huey Lewis & The News were the biggest grossing touring act in America.

Songs:

The Heart of Rock and Rool
Heart and Soul
bad is Bad
I Want a New Drug
Walking on a Thin Line
Finally Found a Home

You Crack Me Up

Genesis - Abacab - LP Record

Genesis - Abacab

Genesis - Abacab

1981, Atlantic Recording Corporation

The album marks a sharp stylistic jump, begun by the band on its preceding album Duke, away from their progressive rock style of the 1970s and toward a more radio-friendly pop music sound. Despite the change, the title track, No Reply At All, Keep It Dark and Man on the Corner were all respectable hits as singles and Abacab earned Genesis further fans, with the album hitting UK #1 and US #7, and selling several million copies worldwide and became the band"s first Platinum selling album in the US.

Another noteworthy element of Abacab is drummer Phil Collins"s further refinement of his distinctive drum sound, involving reverberation, noise gates and compression in order to achieve an inordinately loud and authoritative percussive effect. This continued a trend Collins began on his solo hit single In the Air Tonight, as well as the song Intruder from former bandmate Peter Gabriel"s third album.

In addition to pounding rock, Abacab incorporates upbeat, accessible music - an increasingly important element in Genesis"s style at the time. No Reply At All features the Earth, Wind & Fire horn section (as did Collins" solo album Face Value earlier in 1981), and even Dodo/Lurker, whose adventurous lyrics recall traditional Genesis, features a funky rhythm, propelled by Tony Banks"s keyboards.

After years of using outside record producers, Genesis produced Abacab solely by themselves, while limiting further than before the number of solo compositions in favor of the group-written pieces. They also had the expertise of engineer Hugh Padgham, who assisted Collins on Face Value and would continue to work on Genesis and Collins recordings through the end of the decade.

The album takes its name from an early arrangement of the musical parts that make up the title track. Guitarist Mike Rutherford said on the US radio show In the Studio with Redbeard (which spotlighted Duke and Abacab in one episode): There were three bits of music in Abacab, and we referred to them as "section a", "section b", and "section c"... and at different times, they were in different order. We"d start with "section a" and then have "section c"... and at one point in time, it spelled Abacab. On the final version, it"s not that at all, it"s like "Accaabbaac".

Due to its daring shift in style, Abacab is generally considered one of Genesis" most important releases, and was a springboard for future hit albums Genesis and Invisible Touch. The band had been influenced by the punk/new wave revolution in Britain insofar as what they were now offering fans was a set of minimalist, bare, punchy songs, much more in step with the pop charts than Genesis had ever been before. Indeed the compositions are very much a musical companion to the abstract artwork on album"s sleeve. Opening with the hard hitting yet pulsing beat of the title song, nothing could be further from the highly orchestrated work of the mid-seventies.

That said, the complexity of a song like Me and Sarah Jane remained as musically challenging as anything on earlier recordings, even if the sound of the instrumental palette had expanded since the mid-seventies to encompass an innumerably wider array of synthesizers, a more effects-driven sound to Rutherford"s guitars, and the more aggressive sound of Collins" vocals and "gated" drums.

Billy Joel - Glass Houses

1980, CBS Inc. / Columbia Records

The success of his piano-driven ballads like Just the Way You Are and Honesty never sat well with him. With Glass Houses, Joel attacked the new wave popularity with aplomb. Justin Wilson - In Orbit

1975 Jewel Record Corp Jun75

Justin Wilson could be just about anything in life that he wanted to be but and Astronaut. His description of outer space observations as Beautimus of Wondermous would bring all the data reduction computers to a screeching halt being unable to decode or classify the information. As for linking up with and greeting foreign Astronauts in outer space, his Hello dare, how you all are would send scores of foreign interpreters into real panic trying to decide whether wheir space travelers were just being greeted or whether they were being hijacked. I wouldn"t blame any of our Astronauts for not wanting Justin aboard the spacecraft with them. It hurts to be kept in a constant state of laughter what with all of those sensors taped all over your body, and I Garontee that Justin would have everybody aboard in a constant state of laughter. He would have everybody hurting real bad in short order. Probably all the instrumentation back at spaceflight control being fed by those sensors would be fluctuation so wildly that they would have to abort the mission. Even though Justin couldn"t be and Astronaut, he is a wonderful friend, humorist, and story teller of the first order. Don"t look for him in those Television pictures transmitted back to us from outer space. Even thought his wit and humor is out of this world, chances are that he will still be down here with the rest of us. I"m sure that you will find this Album just as wonderful and exciting as the rest of the onces that he did before this one.

Joan Armatrading - Self Title - LP Record

Joan Armatrading - Self Title - LP Record

Joan Armatrading - Self Title

1976 A & M Records Inc.

Joan Armatrading moved with her family to Birmingham, England in 1958. Her first job was working at Rabone Chesterman (makers of fine engineering tools), in Hockley, Birmingham. She was sacked from this job because she insisted in bringing her guitar to work, and playing during tea breaks. In the early 1970s she moved to London to perform in a repertory production of Hair (musical). There she met Pam Nestor, with whom she began writing songs. They worked together on the album Whatever"s for Us, released on the Cube label in 1972. Cube, however, considered Armatrading to be the more likely star material and the album was credited to her alone. These events produced a tension which resulted in the breaking up of this musical partnership, and resulted in a period of inactivity for Armatrading while she extracted herself from her contract with Cube Records.

It was only in 1975 that she was free to sign for A&M, and issued Back to the Night, which was promoted on tour with a six-piece jazz-pop group called The Movies. Joan credited up and coming UK singer Elkie Brooks on the sleeve notes as she had cooked for Joan and the band in the studio while making the album, which was produced by Elkie"s then husband Pete Gage. A major publicity relaunch in 1976 and the involvement of producer Glyn Johns propelled her next album, Joan Armatrading, into one of the top best sellers of the year, and spawned the hit single Love and Affection. The album mixed acoustic work with jazz-influenced material, and this style was retained for the 1977 follow-up Show some Emotion, which was also produced by Glyn Johns as was 1978"s To the Limit. These albums included songs which continue to be staples of Armatrading"s live shows, including Willow, Down to Zero and Kissin" and a Huggin. A live album Steppin" Out in 1979 showcased her well-honed stage act.

She gained a new audience following her writing and performing The Flight of the Wild Geese, which was used during the opening and end titles for the 1976 war film The Wild Geese.

In 1980 Armatrading radically revised her playing style and released Me, Myself, I, a harder pop-oriented album produced by Richard Gottehrer, who had also worked on albums by Blondie and Robert Johnson. The same pop style was also evident on the 1981 album Walk under Ladders and 1983"s The Key which produced a hit in the single Drop the Pilot.

She made a vocal cameo appearance on the 1986 Queen album A Kind of Magic during the song Don"t Lose Your Head, recorded for the film Highlander.

She has mixed eclectic musical styles over decades of recording and performing. She has scored several UK hit singles, the biggest of which were Love & Affection, Me Myself I and Drop the Pilot. Generally, her music is mostly pop with forays into rock, folk, jazz, and even reggae. Her popularity is primarily as an album artist and as a singer-songwriter.

Armatrading"s latest album, Into the Blues, is scheduled for release in the United States on May 1, 2007. A video for the first single, A Woman in Love, is circulating on YouTube and similar sites. The album, which Armatrading calls the CD I’ve been promising myself to write for a long time, has a strong blues-rock feel.

Heart - Magazine

1978 Mushroom Records Inc.

Magazine is the third studio album by the hard rock band Heart. The album was certified platinum, but failed to meet the same level of sales as the band"s previous two albums.

Magazine was intended to be the follow-up to Heart"s 1976 album Dreamboat Annie. However, Heart left Mushroom Records and went over to Portrait to record Little Queen for their second album. Magazine was later released to fulfill contractual obligations. It was originally released in late 1977 to radio stations, but the album was immediately pulled from general release. It is under dispute as to whether Heart or Mushroom Records were the ones demanding that parts of the album be re-mixed and re-recorded, but the original release was clearly a sub-par effort. The original track listings are slightly different in terms of order and length compared to what was eventually re-released in 1978.

Chicago - VIII - LP Record

Chicago

Chicago - VIII

1974, CBS Inc. Manufactured by Columbia Records

This Album Still has the Original T-Shirt Iron On. - RARE-

Chicago VIII is the eighth album by American rock band Chicago and was released in 1975. Following the experimental jazz/pop stylings of Chicago VII, the band returned to a more streamlined sound on this follow-up.

After five consecutive years of constant activity, the members of Chicago were feeling drained as they came to record Chicago VIII at producer James William Guercio"s Caribou Ranch in Colorado in the summer of 1974. While the variety in styles explored on Chicago VIII were reminiscent of Chicago VI, this particular album had a more distinct rock feel, as exemplified on Peter Cetera"s Anyway You Want and Hideaway, as well as Terry Kath"s Hendrix tribute Oh, Thank You Great Spirit and James Pankow"s smash hit Old Days (#5). The ballad Brand New Love Affair, Part I & II charted at #61.

Preceded by Lamm"s nostalgic Harry Truman (#13) as lead single, Chicago VIII was held over for release until March 1975 as Chicago VII was still riding high in the charts. While it easily reached #1 in the US, the album had a lukewarm critical reception - still commonly considered, by some, as one of their weakest albums, resulting in the briefest chart stay of any Chicago album thus far. It was also the first album to feature session percussionist Laudir De Oliveira as a full-fledged band member, the first addition to the original lineup.

In 2002, Chicago VIII was remastered and reissued by Rhino Records with two unreleased songs: Sixth Sense (a backing track) by Kath and Bright Eyes by Lamm, as well as version of Satin Doll recorded for Dick Clark"s Rockin" New Year"s Eve special - all as bonus tracks.

Songs:

Brand New Love Affair - Part 1
Brand New Love Affair - Part 2
Never Been In Love Before

Till We Meet Again

Chicago - VI - LP Record

Chicago

Chicago - VI

1973 CBS Inc., Manufactured by Columbia Records

Chicago VI is the sixth album by American rock band Chicago and was released in 1973. Following the streamlined character of Chicago V, this successor would see the group follow more of a pop music approach, relying less on their trademark horns and exploring varied music forms.

After recording all of Chicago"s first five albums in New York City, producer James William Guercio had his own Caribou Studios built in Nederland, Colorado during 1972, finished in time for the band to record their sixth album the following February. It would remain their recording base for the next four years.

While Robert Lamm maintains his songwriting prowess on Chicago VI (authoring half of the album"s tracks, including his response to some of Chicago"s negative reviewers in Critics" Choice), it is James Pankow who is responsible for the album"s two hits, Just You "N" Me (#4) and Feelin" Stronger Every Day (#10), the last of which was composed with Peter Cetera, who, himself landed another track on Chicago VI, the country-influenced In Terms Of Two.

Released in June 1973, Chicago VI was another commercial success, spending five weeks at #1 in the US, while failing to chart in the UK at all, beginning a dry spell there that would last until 1976"s Chicago X.

On August 23, 1989, just before 7:00pm local time, Just You "N" Me was the last song played on WLS Chicago before switching to an all-talk format.

In 2002, Chicago VI was remastered and reissued by Rhino Records, with two bonus tracks.

Chicago - V - LP Record

Chicago

Chicago - V

1972 CBS, Inc., Manufactured by Columbia Records

Chicago V is the fifth album by American rock band Chicago and was released in 1972. It is notable for being the group"s first single full-length release, after having released three consecutive double albums and a box set of live material.

Following the release of Chicago III in 1971, which almost left Chicago creatively spent, the band decided to curb their penchant for double albums and work on more concise numbers (in deference to the suites that had typified their previous work) in order to fit all of their new material onto a single album. Chicago V is also notable for Robert Lamm"s prolific songwriting; eight out of its ten are composed solely by him.

Recorded just before Chicago at Carnegie Hall was released in the fall of 1971, Chicago V was cut in just over a week and held over for release until the following summer. Preceded by Saturday In The Park, which reached #3 - the band"s biggest hit thus far, the critically-acclaimed Chicago V became the biggest hit album of 1972, not only becoming Chicago"s first #1 album but spending nine weeks in the pole position in the US. In the UK, the release managed to reach #24. Follow-up single, Dialogue (Part I & II) (#24) also became a Top 30 hit.

In 2002, Chicago V was remastered and reissued by Rhino Records with three bonus tracks:

Songs:

A Hit by Varèse – 4:56
All Is Well – 3:52
Now That You"ve Gone (James Pankow) – 5:01

Black Sabbath - Sabotage - LP Record

Black Sabbath

Black Sabbath - Sabotage

1975 Warner Bros Records

Sabotage, originally released on Warner Bros. Records in the US and NEMS in the UK, was Black Sabbath"s sixth studio outing. Singer Ozzy Osbourne has often complained in interviews over the years that this album marked the beginning of what he described as guitarist Tony Iommi"s studio production obsession. It took vastly longer than the previous albums each took to record or produce, making for the most costly Sabbath album to that point (the first album only took a few hundred pounds and a couple of days). Like the previous album, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, fan response was mixed.

In regard to sound, the album continues a trend that began with the previous album. With Sabotage, Iommi brought in more use of keyboards and orchestral-sounding songwriting and oddities (for Sabbath) like choral arrangements (Supertzar).

The song Symptom of the Universe is often considered by some to be the first ever thrash metal riff. Sabbath fans are split down the middle as to the album"s importance in the band"s catalog, but Sabotage has gained something of a cult following among general hard rock/heavy metal fans.

On some of the first vinyl/cassette releases (and all of the remastered versions of the album) there is a short, 23 second hidden track titled Blow on a Jug at the end of The Writ. Recorded at very low volume, it contains Ozzy and Bill Ward goofing around in the studio.

Songs:

Hole in the Sky – 3:59
Don"t Start (Too Late) – 0:49
Symptom of the Universe – 6:29
Megalomania – 9:46
The Thrill of It All – 5:56

Am I Going Insane (Radio) – 4:16
The Writ – 8:45

Billy Joel - 52nd Street - LP Record

Billy Joel

Billy Joel - 52nd Street

1978, CBS Inc. / Columbia Records

Joel faced high expectations on this album. 52nd Street was conceived as a day in Manhattan, and was named after the famous street of same name which hosted many of the world"s premier jazz venues and performers throughout the 1930s, 40"s, and 50"s. Fans purchased over seven million copies on the strength of the hits My Life (# 3), Big Shot (# 14), and Honesty (# 24). This helped 52nd Street become Joel"s first # 1 album. My Life eventually became the theme song for a new US television sitcom, Bosom Buddies, which featured actor Tom Hanks in one of his earliest roles. 52nd Street was the first album to be released on Compact Disc in Japan (1982). The album won Grammys for Best Pop Vocal Performance, Male & Album of the Year. Despite all the cover art for the album showing Joel holding a trumpet, he does not play the instrument on the album, though two tracks on the album do feature trumpets. Freddie Hubbard plays two solos in Zanzibar and joins Jon Faddis in the horn section for Half A Mile Away.

Vanilla Fudge - The Beat Goes On - LP Record

Vanilla Fudge - The Beat Goes On

1968, Atlantic Records, USA

Vanilla Fudge was an American psychedelic band that recorded albums from 1967 to 1970. Members included organist Mark Stein, bassist Tim Bogert, lead guitarist Vince Martell, and drummer Carmine Appice.

They had a number of hit singles, their biggest hit being You Keep Me Hangin" On, a slowed-down, trippy, hard rock cover of a song originally recorded by The Supremes, which particularly featured Appice"s energetic drumming. One follow-up to this hit, Take Me For a Little While, had a quite different lyric message than the former.

The members of Vanilla Fudge were great admirers of The Beatles, and covered several of their songs including Ticket to Ride, as well as Eleanor Rigby, of which The Beatles were quite fond.

They were inducted into the Long Island Music Hall of Fame (www.limusichalloffame.org)on Oct 15, 2006, along with Billy Joel and Joan Jett. Fellow Long Islander Felix Cavaliere inducted them into the hall.

The Ventures - The Horse - LP Record

The Ventures

1968 Liberty Records Inc. USA

Initially calling themselves The Versatones, Bogle and Wilson played small clubs and beer bars in the Northwest. In 1959 they recorded and released two vocal tunes, The Real McCoy and Cookies and Coke, but neither record charted. They met and recruited Nokie Edwards as bass player, and recorded Walk Don"t Run with Bogle on lead, Wilson on rhythm, Edwards on bass, and Skip Moore on drums. They approached several record companies, none of whom showed any interest in signing them. With support from Don Wilson"s mother, Josie, they started their own record company, Blue Horizon Records. They self-produced the 45 RPM single of Walk Don"t Run and promoted it themselves.

They succeeded in getting a local Seattle DJ, Pat O"Day, to use the song as a news kicker (lead-in); Bob Reisdorf, owner of Dolton Records, heard it on the radio, contacted and signed The Ventures. Walk Don"t Run climbed to #2 for a week on the Billboard Top 100, in September 1960.

The story behind their selection of Walk Don"t Run provides some insight into the distinction between technical virtuosity and the essential elements of a wildly successful pop music hit. Bob Bogle, original lead guitarist, cites Chet Atkins as one of his early influences. Bogle bought the Chet Atkins LP Hi Fi In Focus, which featured Atkins" finger style rendition of a song originally written by the great jazz guitarist, Johnny Smith. Within Atkins" elaborate and laid-back delivery of Walk Don"t Run Bogle found inspiration. He stated years later that there was no way his pedestrian guitar skills would allow him to play it the same as Chet Atkins did, so he and Wilson worked out a highly energized, very much simplified arrangement, and a Rock & Roll Classic was born. Another Chet Atkins inspired guitarist, Steve Howe of Yes, covered Walk Don"t Run on his 1998 album Quantum Guitar.

The Byrds Greatest Hits - LP Record

The Byrds Greatest Hits LP

The Byrds Greatest Hits

1967 CBS Inc. Columbia Records

The Byrds Greatest Hits is the fifth album, and first compilation, by the American rock and roll band, The Byrds, released 1967 on Columbia Records, catalogue item CL 2716 in mono, CS 9516 in stereo. It is the top-selling album in the Byrds catalogue, reaching #6 on the Billboard Top Pop Albums chart in 1967, certified a platinum-seller by the Recording Industry Association of America on November 21, 1986. In 2003, the album was ranked number 178 on Rolling Stone magazine"s list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.

A summary of the Byrds history during the stays of Gene Clark and David Crosby in the band, this compilation also serves as the survey of the group"s hit singles from 1965 to 1967 inclusive, the time when they were a force on the singles chart. Every A-side from this time period appears, with the exceptions of Set You Free This Time, Have You Seen Her Face, and Lady Friend, none of which cracked the Top 40. The set includes three favored album tracks, with the remaining eight singles tracks peaking at the following positions on the Billboard Hot 100: 5D (Fifth Dimension) #44; All I Really Want to Do #40; Mr. Spaceman #36; My Back Pages #30; So You Want to Be A Rock and Roll Star #29; Eight Miles High #14; Turn! Turn! Turn! #1; and Mr. Tambourine Man also #1. The last three records were among the most innovative and influential of the entire decade, at a time when singles, at least in rock and roll, were as important entities in their own right as albums, and generally more so. Turn! Turn! Turn! summed up sixties counter cultural values as much as Blowin" in the Wind, (I Can"t Get No) Satisfaction, or All You Need Is Love, while Mr. Tambourine Man and Eight Miles High helped to introduce the sub-genres of folk-rock and psychedelia respectively into the popular music of the day.

Greatest Hits was remixed and remastered at 20-bit resolution as part of the Columbia/Legacy Byrds series, reissued in an expanded form on March 30, 1999. The three bonus tracks included two of the remaining singles from this period, plus It Won"t Be Wrong. It was reissued again in the SACD format, with the same expanded track listing as on the 20-bit remaster, on January 30, 2001. All of the songs on this set appeared as well on the band"s first four albums proper.

Songs:

Mr. Tambourine Man
I"ll Feel a Whole Lot Better
The Bells of Rhymney
Turn! Turn! Turn! (To Everything There Is a Season)
All I Really Want To Do
Chimes of Freedom
Eight Miles High
Mr. Spaceman
5 D (Fifth Dimension)
So You Want to Be a Rock and Roll Star
My Back Pages

The Beatles "65 - LP Record

The Beatles "65

1965 Capitol Records

The Beatles were an English rock band from Liverpool whose members were John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. They are among the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed bands in the history of popular music. Their innovative music and cultural impact helped define the 1960s.

The Beatles are the best-selling musical act of all time in the United States, according to the Recording Industry Association of America, which certified them as the highest selling band of all time based on American sales of singles and albums. In the United Kingdom, The Beatles released more than 40 different singles, albums, and EPs that reached number one. This commercial success was repeated in many other countries: their record company, EMI, estimated that by 1985 they had sold over one billion discs and tapes worldwide. In 2004, Rolling Stone Magazine ranked the Beatles #1 on their list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.

The Beatles led the mid-1960s musical British Invasion into the United States. Although their initial musical style was rooted in 1950s rock and roll and homegrown skiffle, the group explored genres ranging from Tin Pan Alley to psychedelic rock. Their clothes, styles, and statements made them trend-setters, while their growing social awareness saw their influence extend into the social and cultural revolutions of the 1960s.

Copyright laws in Music, not like Classic Records

I was reading something about copyright laws yesterday when something caught my attention. There was a comment about how copyright laws are out dated and possibly not even enforced anymore when directed at the average consumer.

The Idea behind this post was to point out that we are no longer using Stores to transfer media like we did with vinyl records or tapes. The media is readily available over the Internet for immediate download, and the ease of sharing is extremely easy. The RIAA needs to reform its actions when it comes to copyright protection and stop pursuing the average consumer for downloading licenced music.

What needs to happen is the Removal of companies that allow shared music and other files over P2P (Person to Person) networks like Kazza, Limewire, or Bearshare. Then we need to add some sort of Watermark to all media that actually limits the Copy of digital media. Next, if the copyright is somehow figured out on how to be removed we need to shut down the programs being shared and sue the company or individual for creating the program. This is Hypothetically only if we do this Anyway.

So the question comes up, and this is what started DVD copy programs, are we allowed to make copies of our own music to protect it against damage for backup purposes? The answer is Yes, we should be allowed to do so. But, how are we going to do this? What should be implemented for this sort of backup? Can we buy a 20 track CD that is in wave media form and change it to mp3 so that it fits on one single piece of media along with my other 9 disks? Is that copyright infringement?

These questions just tell me that the RIAA's laws are out dated because we are violating laws everyday, just by transferring the media to a different medium so that it is playable in our own cars. So what is the Solution?

In my personal opinion, each band, song writer, publisher, or anyone else who creates a work of art should be responsible for protecting their own work and we should abolish the RIAA. I think I have established a set of rules that might help this problem.

Step 1:
Abolish all digital media.

Step 2:
Start up Digital Music Recording like the DVR we have for home music.

Step 3:
Access on Demand.

Step 4:
Sell access on demand subscriptions like we do with cable or satellite services.

What this will accomplish?
The need for backup media will be completely absorbed, the need to download media will be completely removed. Sirus satellite radio and the other satellite radio should be the new standard. At $10.00 per month who wouldn't purchase every album they ever wanted without ever having to make a backup?

This solution will work, and it seems that its possible that we will get there anyway.

So what will happen to all the media that we already have? Players will become outdated, Record companies will need to convert to Record Station and all radio providers will need to portion there money based on the Bandwidth used on the radio.

But, even when we get there? How long will it be before someone actually cracks the code and gets free media? Who knows and Who cares, because this is just another step in the right direction.

Classic Records

Have you noticed the huge change in the Music industry over the past few decades. It seems that as the internet evolves so does the music industry. The usage of vinyl records has been reduced, 8 tracks and tapes have been shut out. CD's are now evolving to another form of media, MP3's. It would be silly to think that MP3's are going to last.

Original Vinyl Records and More is trying to preserve the 60's 70's and 80's music period.

The problem I have is not with the music companies, or with the music. It's with the change from physical to digital. Vinyl Records are the start of this music change. They are the beginning of the music revolution. Music prior to these Original Vinyl Records was only transfered by radio and possibly television at that time. Original Vinyl Records and More understands this and wants to recreate a dying trend.

Today's society is all about the clarity the ease of receiving and what ever it takes to stay lazy. Seriously, Can't anyone understand that music is not about the perfect clarity the digital funk or the crazy rhythms. Music is about heart soul and giving it everything you have got. The slight crackles of the needle as it slides across the LP are part of the sound. The possibility of scratching the Records is just one more reason to take good care of them. The Large Sleeves that cover the Records provide some of the greatest wall Art that has ever been available.

Original Vinyl Records and More is providing some of the world greatest Rock bands, Comedic Records, Easy Listening, Classics, and the first sounds of the digital music revolution with the most collectible record of all time - Pink Floyd - The Dark Side of the Moon
